A Remote Alaska Wilderness Lodge Located on Stephan Lake
Talkeetna Adventure Lodge is a remote wilderness lodge located 140 air miles from Anchorage on the shores of Stephan Lake in Alaska's spectacular Talkeetna Mountain Range. One of the finest wilderness properties in Alaska, our lodge has been in operation since the late 1960's and was completely renovated in 2015.
Take a bush plane or float plane to the lodge from either Anchorage or Talkeetna [read more about traveling to our lodge]. Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by Talkeetna Adventure Lodge employees, who will gladly take your bags to your appointed guest room and offer a brief tour of the surroundings. Packages include our signature cocktail with dinner, and all of our gourmet meals are prepared by our onsite chef. Snacks, appetizers, coffee, and tea are provided throughout the day. You will also enjoy complimentary use of kayaks, canoes, and fishing gear (unguided).

The Main Lodge
We offer a casual atmosphere and comfortable accommodations. Built of local spruce logs, the newly renovate lodge overlooks Stephan Lake and offers six private rooms that can accommodate up to eleven guests. The main lodge has a spacious lounge with a natural stone fireplace and is the ideal place to relax and share stories of the day's adventures. Our gourmet meals are served family style in the dining room and full bar service is available at "The Watering Hole".

Adventurer's Cabins
For our more adventurous guests, we offer the unique opportunity of experiencing our five remote outlying spike cabins. These rustic log cabins form a loop through the Alaskan wilderness that surrounds us and are a comfortable day's walk from each other. Each one offers a unique experience in the backcountry of the Talkeetna Mountain Range. Our dry spike cabins are equipped with wood stoves, kitchen supplies, and sleeping pads.
Our Alaskan Backcountry Cabins:
Deneka Cabin: Fish, hike, canoe, or relax here! Located on a private lake, this cabin sleeps four and can accommodate another four guests in the adjacent Octagon Cabin. Deneka can be accessed via a three mile hike from the lodge, or you can fly-in, or snowmachine.
Grizzly Cabin: Spectacular views of Denali and the Talkeetna Mountain Range abound at Grizzly Cabin which can be accessed via an 8 mile hike from the lodge, or you can fly-in, or snowmachine.
Half Way Cabin: Amazing views of Denali and the Talkeetna Mountain Range can also be found at this remote cabin. We recommend you spend a night at Half Way then hike to Grizzly Cabin the next day for a full backcountry experience. Half Way Cabin is only a 4 mile hike or snowmachine ride from the lodge. It is named so because it is half-way between the lodge and Grizzly Cabin.
Talkeetna Cabin: Located on the confluence of the Talkeetna River and Prairie Creek, this newly remodeled cabin sleeps two and offers world class fishing and hiking. Fish for Silver, Red, or King Salmon, Rainbow Trout, Dolly Varden, and Grayling (season permitting). To access Talkeetna Cabin you can fly-in, raft, or snowmachine.
Susitna Cabin: Located on the impressive Susitna River, this cabin offers premier Alaskan fishing, and is only a 3 mile hike or snowmachine ride from the lodge. This cabin is currently under construction.
